Has anybody installed a supercharger on their H3 yet? I have over 6000 miles on my H3 and the power hasn't improved. I installed a Flowmaster exhaust and K&N filter, but still no improvement.
Pros and cons to a supercharger? What will it do to the gas mileage? Hummer recommended it..... |
I've posted several times regarding superchargers and nobody on this forum has responded (yet). Although this does not answer any of your questions, here is an email I received regarding a supercharger system:
We are currently designing a supercharger system for the H3 application and hope to release it before the end of the year. If you like, I can save your information to be notified of its release. The first 200 systems will be sent to my Hummer distributor Stinger Mac Corp. They can be reached at http://www.smahummer.com. Best regards, Judd Reimers Account Manager http://www.magnusonproducts.com http://www.magnacharger.com I've spoken with my dealership regarding this supercharger system and it will be a GM authorized aftermarket system which WILL NOT void the warranty. Sorry for the tangent, does anybody have a response the the original post? |
Do a search, there have been many discussions about SCs for the H3. As far as I know, there is only one that you can purchase right now and it is a preproduction sale price. Give it a little time and they will be out there.

Yep, that would be the one I was talking about. |
A couple of days ago during class, while paying very close attention, I was thinking about adding a supercharger to the H3 but kept getting to the point where it would void some of the warranty on teh vehicle. Just for fun I searched the forum, came across this thread and, WOW, a supercharger that does not void the warranty.
I went crazy! jsw029, or anyone else that has info on this can you post a folloup since this thread ended a while ago, and I would love tho know what happened. And is it really GM Authorized!? Thanks everybody!!!! |
My dealer had a supercharger option. They had already done three of them. (Not sure what kind... The aftermarket chick was real ditzie.) They wanted $9000 and it WOULD be covered under factory warranty... As long as you paid them to do it. I think I'll wait until mine goes out of warranty and then maybe add one. You can buy them for less than half of that online.
I'm getting used to the power band of the Hummer though. Besides... I have another car if I want to go fast. EDIT - Here's a link - http://www.teakatoys.com/Hummer_H3_Supercharger_by_Pred..._p/pm-h3-per-101.htm |
Thanks rick!

I may have a odd H3 but my power seems great I hit the gas the other day and the front lifted up and it ran down the road real good some kid was tring to race me for some reason though its not a race car i seem to have more power then a lota people seem to think they should have but mine works well
|
The reason that I am looking for a supercharger is not so that I can race it or even for off road purpose. I usually tow some things that are within the towing range of the h3 and does a great job on reasonably flat and lightly sloped roads, but at times i get to roads where the slope is considerable. Without any load the vehicle does great on those too, but with 3000 punds of trailer on the back it can get a little heavy on any vehicle.
If you guys know of any other way of helping the vehicle out that would help alot. I have already upgraded the exhaust and the intake to get as much power as possible without any drastic changes such as a supercharger, but I need just a bit more. Thanks everybody! |
Nitroius anybody ?

Pricey, because the dealer can cover the warranty risk with the huge profit.
