Today, while doing 80 mph on the highway, I accidentally pressed the Locking Rear Axle button on top.
![]() ![]() Around the same time I heard a popping sound like a rock hitting my undercarriage and there was a smell like a lighted firecracker. Was this just a coincidence (I hope so) or did some thing happen down there? The car seems to work fine and all gauges measured normal. ![]() I would really appreciate your comments on this. |

certain criteria has to be met before the locking diff button does anything and 80mph isn't one of them. truck must be in 4wheel low lock and under 20mph before the diff will lock.probobly just a coincidence with the smells.

the light would not have just "come on." It would have blinked for several seconds and then went back off, indicating that it cannot engage due to the criteria intimidator referred to.
