Can this still work with aftermarket wheels & tires? If not, is there a way to turn the light off the dash icon?

Yes, two possible ways. One, is if it fits inside the air valve hole of the new wheel, it will mount like on a factory wheel.
If not, you could use a large band and band it to the inside of the rim (used to do this on Corvettes), so it should work on this unit also.
As for disconnecting, cannot believe any dealer would ever do it, and I don't believe it is something they can turn off with the Tech 2. This is mandated by Federal Regulations. Of course, some aftermarket company may come along with something that will turn it off, but I have not heard of it...yet.

If you press the reset button on the dash, it goes away....till the next time you start the vechical.
