I have 10 (yes thats right 10) Hellas on my turck, and I think they are awesome. I would highly reccomend them.

Well like Phil said they aren't cheap, but I feel like when it comes to lights, you get what you pay for. I have 4 Warn SDB-160HB on the front of mine and I am very impressed. With the Delta 10x on top that gives me a total of 12 lights. So SSG I guess I one-upped ya. Do a search for the lights in question here, there has been a lot of discussion on them.

My opinion is PIAA 580's look better and are pretty damned bright. Like the Warns that JamesT has, the PIAA 580's only have horizontal bars on the grill covers, but their diameter is a bit larger than the Warns and matches the stock head lamps. And when mounted on the Warn light bar they line up with the stock headlamps. Most of the other PIAAs I've seen on H2's on this site are 520's and 540's which have the crosshatch grill covers, which are smaller in diameter, and which aren't as bright as the 580's. SUMMARY-OF-LAST-PARAGRAPH: if you want them to be same size and to line up with the headlamps get the PIAA 580s

I got my PIAAs off of ebay for 50-66% of retail prices. Still pricey, but tolerable.

One other thing to consider when picking out lights is integrating the switches on the dash. The Warn switches are tollerable stylewize by some, but the PIAA switches really don't go with the look at all and you'll probably want to mount a custom switch. Use find to locate old posts on switch mounting, or PM me and I'll dig up some threads from history. A bunch of us have tried different styles and locations.

I would also look at www.lightforceusa.com they are by far the best light i have ever owned. they are virutally indestructable and they have an adjustable beam.

I think you'll be happy with them. Just make sure the light is white and the housing is sturdy; it makes a HUGE difference. Seriously, search the subject, cuz there are all sorts of options available. I have PIAA 580's and they are great! (2 drivers and 2 fogs, both with clear lenses.) I've never cared for the Ion lense look. Good Luck!

Alan06SUT 01-31-2006 12:16 AM

Go with 4 PIAA 580's they look perfect like the others said, they match the stock headlights. I have 2 spots in the middle and two fogs on the ends (warn bar). The fogs fill the gap between the truck and the regular headlights, and the spots go well beyond the regular hi/low beams. It is the best set up for our trucks IMO. I left the guards off and I think it looks more "factory" and doesnt have free PIAA ads all over the front of my truck! They are worth the money.

ree 01-31-2006 12:26 AM

Alan you got a picture handy of the 580's without the covers? I guess I can get off my lazy ass and pull my covers off to see what it looks like. If you post yours without the covers, I'll post mine with the covers

I have the following lights-

PIAA 510 Ion Crystal PN 5161: These are terrible. Yellowish light, quite dim, poor dispersion. They come on automatically with my low beam headlights but are basically worthless. Perhaps I just need a different driving beam pattern or new bulbs. A flashlight would be an improvement. . .

PIAA 1100X Super White Driving PN 1192: These are AWESOME!! They are wired to my highbeams. Extremely bright, nice wide dipersion, super white light all in a tiny package!

Hella 4000 Euro Beam: Great all around light if you only have one pair. The provide good long distance "throw" and have a nice midrange "bell" pattern for side vision.

Overall, I like the construction, mounting brackets and connections of the Hellas better than the PIAA products I've had.

Off topic, Cincinnati brings the suck. Don't come here for training or you'll end up posting some rambling light nonsense from a Wingate business hotel. . .

That only requires a one word answer: yes.
