I am going to put in exhaust next weekend and i have gotten estimates for different jobs. I cant decide if i want to do a system or if i want it done custom. I got a really good deal on a custom with 5 inch dual tips or 2 1/2 dual tips. Not sure what to do. Can people post thoughts..what they have done...and pictures. Thanks.

I went with the corsa, if you ever plan to off road make sure you get a off road turn down tip for clearance or you will end up with flat dual tips.

Another vote for Corsa -- a fantastic exhaust system.

I got the Corsa Touring with dual tip. Make sure you're given the the offroad tip at installation.

Definitely CORSA... I got mine through RealWheelsacc.com because you can actually hear it on their site. It sounds even better in person, and it wasn't difficult to install. I had a couple basic questions, and the technicians at RealWheels were very helpful. I've got the sport tips, because most of the off-roading I do is minor compared to some of you extreme guys, and they really give it a custom look.

I have the B&B and love it. as well as B&B Headers. Don't go custom as they typically do not have the mandrel bends but the crimped type bends. Corsa, B&B, and all other kits are computer designed for flow, installation and quality control.

Another vote for B&B TriFlow. It has a 3.5" pipe with a 4.5" tip located in the stock location. I also have Borla headers.

Here is a pic looking up under the truck as you cannot see it standing up.

I like the B&B systems. Many of the major brands out there are made by B&B just using different names. One hell of a system and easy to install. BIG-C

So what exactly did you get in return for purchasing an aftermarket exhaust? Performance? Sound? Please explain in detail why these are so great. I just don't see the investment being money well spent on something I already have that works perfectly and I like the sound of.

You only like the sound of your stock exhaust because you've never heard the CORSA
exhaust "live and in person". Now that I have it, I couldn't imagine not having one.

They say it gives some performance gain, but I think it's minimal. I'm sure someone "techy"
will give you the exact gains on an aftermarket exhaust.

To me...an H2 looks tough, therefore it should sound tough too.

See, I sort of come from the camp that it should not be heard at all...

That's cool...with that said, an aftermarket exhaust would probably not be for you because
they are louder than the stock exhaust.

We all have our own likes/dislikes and preferences in ragards to H2 accessories.
I sort of come from the camp that Gobi racks are ugly as sin!

Thanks for the feedback. I thought it was more about what it sounded like and not a performance increase, but you almost always see it marketed as a "performance" part. Thanks again.

FRG, are you and H2Finally friends?

More air in, more air out. With a larger, properly designed exhaust the engine does not have to work as hard to expell the gases through the muffler and exhaust pipes. It would then make sense you are freeing up horsepower.

Sort of like adding an under drive pulley. The engine does not work as hard to turn all the pulleys, thus freeing up HP. (Don't call me out on that sentence, I know it turns them slower.)

FrgMstr 02-23-2004 06:17 PM

I am fully versed on the general workings of an internal combustion engine, I was just wondering if there really is a HP benefit. I dont really have a interest in making it sound louder, and was wondering if the pipes were truly giving any noticeable difference. If not, then I will save my money for something else.
