2005 M3 to 2006 H2 SUT 02-18-2006 08:22 PM

Hi all, my first post... what's up

I have an M3 and an X3 (I know, I know, NOT an offroad vehicle ), but am consolidating to just one car and think that a Hummer is the way to roll. Buying is in several weeks, wanna sale at least one of the bimmers myself instead of trading them both in.

Anyway, I am very interested in the SMA supercharger. Is there any advice anyone would give regarding it. Like:
Better to have dealer install it or do it elsewhere?
Any reason a supercharger would hurt off road capability?
SMA's any better or any worse than anyone else's?

Thanks...

It depends on where you are...

If you are East Coast... think about Hummersgonewild(.com) They did mine and have a lot of experience that goes beyond the instructions....

100% get the supercharger... you'll love it.

regarding location, i am in socal. i'm hoping to negotiate the s/c as part of the principle on a lease, and get it residualized. prob won't work, but it is worth the effort--that is if the answers to my above questions are ok.

lol

yup you'll love the super charger. if your close to HGW do contact them if your not in there area then yes have your dealer do the install especially if you intend to have them do any future warranty work.

Will the SC hurt off road? not a bit.

enjoy

thats why they created a boost gauge

Fubar 02-19-2006 04:20 AM

of course if you don't pay attention to it.. well that's another issue

Fubar 02-19-2006 04:22 AM

and since it's been pointed out that this fellow is in CA I'd suggest contacting the LAPD (Los Angeles Performance Division) and have them do the install if you've decided against the dealership.

and a heavy foot

Ken you are right too much power will tear up things. I guess my best advice to this fellow is do you homework. Don't simply slap a SC on top of the motor and call it quits. One system affects all the others and the H2 in its' stock form wasn't made to handle 500hp

i agree, and this is one of the main reasons i thought that sma was the way to go. i don't know too much about the company but apparently they are sold through hummer parts dept and approved of by gm... obviously any f/i comes with some risk, but if the system comes with a 3 year warranty and gm gave it a thumbs up, i'm thinking all will be ok.

i have seen lapd on the internet. i will keep them in mind, it seems the store attached to this forum sales quite a bit of stuff too
