Hello;

I am probably not the typical guy here judging by others posts but I do share the enthusiasm. Isn't that what it is about?!

I just bought, off of ebay, site unseen with no PPI a 2003 Black Lux H2. Yes, it has chrome, I didn't do it, and yes it is primarily for my wife to drive. Told you I wasn't the typical one . In all seriousness, we love boating and camping and can't wait to get it dirty!!!

As I know the story it belonged to a Xerox Corp. executives wife in or near Mendon NY and it was "to much truck for her". It has 18,000 miles on it and as far as I can tell, every option on it except Nav. and DVD. No SC or chip. It goes on the truck in New York tomorrow morning to be shipped to me in Washington. It is black. Sage green and black rims was the dream!!! Anyone have a picture of that??? I really wanted a Sage Green but the one I Sage I did find was more money and had 40,000miles on it. I am considering having the upper third of the body painted a different color and changing the rims when I need new tread. Also thinking about air, exhaust and chip to breath better.

Anyway, I am glad to be getting it but need some more background information on the 2003's. By reading the boards it seems this year had more issues than any other. Is that true? Could you guys please give me a list of things to check or have the dealer go through? It is still under warranty till next summer and I plan on taking it to the dealer fairly quickly to have them go through it. Any advice on recalls or things to look for would be great. I did see the noises thread on weather stripping rubbing on rear door. That was a great thread to read. Where do I kick in a few dollars to keep this site up and going? That kind of info is invaluable.

Thats it for me. I am looking forward to makeing some new friends, pissing a few off and all in all (not really looking forward to that), having a hell of a good time with my family and our Hummer!

You sure got the color right. Welcome to the forum.

HGW 05-17-2005 06:47 PM

Welcome---I have an 03 & an 04. No real problems with either.

Your H2 looks great.

LoLo 05-17-2005 06:59 PM

Welcome from another "newbie"!

Mully, my husband would agree, and fit right in... he bought ME a Hummer, and hardly ever gets to drive it!

And what's this about the "right color", KenP??? I happen to like my PEWTER rig!

HummBob 05-17-2005 09:13 PM

Black AND Chrome!!

Gotta Love IT!

Welcome

CBR_Raven 05-17-2005 10:54 PM

Congrats Mully...That's a good look!!!

alldunn 05-17-2005 11:05 PM

Ditto on the color...it doesn't get any better than black .

tower 05-17-2005 11:36 PM

Black 2003 H2's have been remarkably trouble free. But only Black.

As long as you are having your local dealer go over the truck, ask them to download all the updates into your on-board computer. If you have air suspension, have them chack that as well.

Also,A little bling on black looks really good, EVEN OFF-ROAD! So don't be apologetic.

The '03 models didn't come with nav. I have an aftermarket Magellan Roadmate 700 which I love. If you want the "factory" look, there are several threads here about retrofitting various devices, some of which incorporate DVD and Back-Up Cameras.

And if you want to do some fun wheeling with members in your neck of the woods, hook up with DRTYFUN in oregon or DennisAJC in B.C.

Mostly, welcome.

DRTYFN 05-17-2005 11:50 PM

Sorry, but we've already got our token bling bling rig in our group. H2Rocks' chrome jungle gym roof rack could fill the quota for 2 rigs.

ROX 05-18-2005 12:11 AM

Hey! My rig resembles that remark!

BTW, Mully, nice black and chrome Hummer H2! Don't loose that Bling! It sets us apart from the other primates!

Are you two married? Or is there another Mully we don't know about? One in Texas, and one in Washington?

LoLo 05-18-2005 12:16 AM

Uh, no... not married.

My statement was TO Mully... not that my husband IS Mully. Guess it was a little confusing!

Well that is great news on the black ones!

I will have the dealer go through the air suspension and computer for sure. Thanks!

I did notice on the owners map that there are very few members in this area. I checked the club link and there is one guy listed as the administrator or something like that. That has to change! Last weekend I met up with 47 other Porsches for a drive. We had to break into three groups and it was a blast. I LOVE to drive and can't wait to get onto some local trails. I know Eastern WA has some great sandy areas. Well, I heard that anyway. It is on the way to MOAB! That has to be done. And, I also have a friend who went on a drive between to towns in Colorado that was something like 47 miles and it took all day doing the easy stuff. Now that sounds fun

Anyway, nice to meet you all and any additional items that have affected more than just the occasional person would be helpful.

Oh, one more question. Who is Dan's avatar? She makes it hard....to focus on a thread

NOPE! And, apparently, his wife doesn't, either!

Oh ****, this is how rumors get started!

Slingshot 05-19-2005 09:43 PM

I do believe the proper response for a new member with Blingy things on his truck is....
BAD NEWBIE!!!!!

Your truck looks great Mully.
Have some of the same stuff on my Black 05

LoLo, nothing's wrong with pewter, if you want to blend in.
