Just installed the Airaid cold air induction and the throttle body spacer. I haven't done a test drive yet, but I will keep you posted. Easy install.

Drove the H3 with the new parts. About what I expected. Not a huge difference. Better throttle response and a feeling of more power up in the power band. The TB spacer has a whistle to it. Some might not like that. It gives a sound similar to a turbo charger, but not too noticeable. I need to find an intake tube to go from the MAF housing to the throttle body. This will make more of a difference because I can loose the air silencer box.

you don't ditch the air baffels with the kit?!
|
where are the air baffles? are you talking about the black box over top of of the enging right before the throttle body?
if so, that is what i want to get rid of. that was a disapointment to me about the kit. |
Looks good!

that is what i am trying to get rid of. i will look for someone who makes just the air intake tube. for now, i will make one out of some 3" or 4" emt conduit.
|
the expandable tube wont go all the way to the throttle body?
|
i havent't tried that. i will look at it today.
thanks. |
any luck? I would think it should eliminate the box. most of the other kits seem to be a solid tube straight to the throttle body.
|
no luck. the tube doesn't quite reach. there is also an air tube running into the back of the black restrictive box that would need to tie in. i have looked at some other kits that eliminate the box, i might have to buy a different one. no worries. thanks for your input.

If you eliminate the air box you will defeat the purpose of the CAI- it will just be sucking in hot under hood air.
