i have learned to talk slow but with no hessitation, and that seems to help.

Yes, this annoys the !@#$ out of me. My wife is Austrailian and it understands her just fine. I have to literally speak LOUD and within 1" of the microphone and _sometimes_ it works.
|
You might want to talk to your dealer about replacing the microphone. We had to replace a few in our GMC trucks at the dealeship I work at for similar problems.
|
Thank you I was thinking i was crazy or could not speak right This is my first onstar so not used to using it.

My wife is from England and has no problem with the Onstar even with her thick accent and even when we're driving on the freeway. I've done radio journalism and even a few television voice overs so I really pride myself on being able to speak correctly. I get seriously pissed off when I try to dial and onstar keeps cutting me off: "Onstar ready" "Dial" "Number to dial, please" "Six zero tw.." "Pardon?" "Six zer..." "Pardon?" "Si.." "Pardon?" "@#$* Off!" "Good Bye." |
I have the same problem, but I find it fun to confuse her when I am stuck in traffic. Good tension breaker

No problem with mine, I rather like it.

I have the same problem and I don't have an accent. I can't even get past "DIAL"!!! Any theatre geeks out there that can teach us "Aussie" so we can use our damn Hummer phone??? ![]() ![]() |
Remenber that microphone was made in Austria. With my accent, takes a few times before picks up the number.
One time, I took my H3 to the drive-thru carwash and water got into the antenna area. It kept going off for two hours till it dried out. very complicated system... Hey Killian, I like your dialogue |
I don't have any problems with mine. I just remember it was built in Louisiana and use my best Justin Wilson's Cajun accent.

I don't have any problems with mine. Just wish it had a way to reveiw stored numbers and caller id. My wife says funny things happen to her when she tries to make calls from her cell from inside the Hummer. She says that when she makes a call the Hummer phone starts to ring and no one is there when she answers. I have checked her phone for numbers dialed thinking she is dialing the Hummer by mistake and it does not show the Hummer number in the called list.

"@#$* Off!"
"Good Bye" "@#$* Off!" "Good Bye." Dude - that's me everytime as well!!! |
Lol glad to know im not the only one that does that
Eat me Pardon? Eat me goodbye! Seriously I had better voice recognition in my 02 silverado onstar than this one. You would think that with the new digital system they would get better pricing to customers for cellular minutes. Their rates remind me when cell phones first came on the market in the 80s |
