Looking for parts on Lynch website, I just noticed they're offering a free DVD player and headrest monitors on their new H3s - KEWL!

So basically they're eating the 499 that it would cost the customer under the new promotion (since the car deal gets credited by GM)...Not a bad marketing idea...

Seems to me that it would be a good marketing ploy. It's being advertised here as freebie on all leased 06 H2 and H3's.

Does that mean the dealer will install it for $499.00 if you wanted one added on to already purchased one ?

The way the program is set up, its actually cheaper to lease one w/ TV installation since you get around 1800 back in rebate, and the system is 1499...

No. The paperwork has to be done on or after November 15th in order to get the rebate from GM.

Does anyone know the dealer that is giving $1,000 gas debit cards with each H3 or H2 sale?
It was mentioned briefly on CNN, talking about sales of SUVs, but I missed the dealer's name. Sounds like another great marketing idea!

Today, the accessories parts manager, brought over a set of the DVDs and they were installed in a GM owned H3. I have to say the install was fast, easy and it looked quite impressive after the install.
Your front headrests are replaced with the appropriate leather/cloth/ color headrest with the screens already installed. Then the wiring runs down inside the seat.
Screens were great. From my understanding of the operation, the left (driver's side) DVD is the master. You can play a DVD in this unit, and the right unit will also display the same DVD. However, you can also play separate DVDs in each unit.
The DVDs load from the top of the headrest.
I have to say, if I had a family and actually had someone riding in the back seat, I would consider this option in a second. However, being just me and my dog, no need for the system.

So is the DVD unit a GM item (with a part #) that you can have your dealer order and install on your existing H3 regardless of the lease promo?

Also how is the audio handled? is it solely through headphones or are there speakers in units?
