Anyone know how to correct for screen view adjustments made. I'm using my desktop that I haven't used in a while, and remember that I had downloaded some software(Microsoft toys. The same site that lets you adjust image sizing) and it made my screen views look kinda wierd. The background is mostly white, and I cannot see alot of the normal stuff, like the tabs to respond to a discussion. I've deleted the software that I think I've downloaded, and still nothing. I've messed with all the setting that I think may have affected the imaging, resized, reconfigured, and even screamed at the screen, but nothing helps!!!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ric-H0 |
ric, are you saying the screen is washed out? If so and if you have adjusted the controls on the front/side of the monitor i.e contrast, brightness. If nothing is working or making any difference, look and see if you can adjust the gamma/brightness from your video card.
Right click on the desktop, choose properties,Settings,Advanced, then the tab for your video card. In there you should be able to adjust the color and brightness, gamma, contrast. If adjusting these has no effect I'd venture to guess you're video card has gone bad. On some monitors there are several different preset gamma settings that you may be able to toggle threw from the controls on the side or front depending on the monitor. |
It's no so much that it's washed out, it is actually certian items that are no longer being displayed. It's really hard to explain. For example, the icons on the "reply" or "report" are not being shown(although if you move over to them, the hand will show up and you can use them), and the boxes to the left of the screen are not black, they are white, but you can still select them(another example, the icon inside the notification box is not there, but the box itself is still there(?)). If I could figure out how to take a snapshot of my screen, it would help to explain. Thanks for the info though!

weird.
to do a screen shot push the print screen but then open a blan doc in any image editing/paint program and then ctrl V to paste the clipboard onto the blank doc. Flatten the image, save as jpeg.. post if the system will allow images to be posted. the above assumes you're using a window based pc. For Mac it's command + shift + 3 then paste as above. |
I guess the forum pic transfers aren't working again!
I've saved the screen shots, and hopefully it can post them soon! Thanks for all your help! Ric-H0 |
I'm getting this error when trying send images. I'll try later!
There was an FTP (file transfer) error. The detail is 'Upload to '/testdir/test.txt' failed. Detail: '552 Transfer aborted. Disk quota exceeded ''. |
Is this problem only apparent in your web browser? When you bring up any other program does it display correctly on the screen? Do photos appear correctly on your screen, photos not online but say from your "My Photo" folder?
If the problem you're having is browser specific, try a different browser. i.e if you're using IE go download Netscape and see if that doesn't solve the issue. If it does, you have an System bug/or some error with IE, and since there is no way of taking Internet Explore out cuz it is part of the OS you'll need to find a work around or try reinstalling the OS. |
Cool...I downloaded netscape, and all appears normal again!
I guess I will have to try to reload IE, or just access netscape when using the internet. A minor invconvenience for a normal screen view. Thanks for the help! Ric |
you're welcome
