Got my new H3 on Wednesday. Love the vehicle. As I look over the H3 I wonder if anyone has found an easy way to change the oil filter. Or, does anyone know of a midget that changes oil filters.

Well, I would take a picture of it but I can't get a camera in the area. As you face your engine from the front it is on the lower left side under the exhaust headers and above the front skid plate.

Is the filter that difficult to get to? I much prefer to do my own oil changes. Synthetic oil changes just cost to much money.

Take off the skid plate with the"H3" on it.
and the black plate behind it.6 qts and a pf61
filter.Even H2CP could do it.
Nothing to do with being FeMALE.

Right, looks like both skid plates will need to come off, 6 bolts, no big deal.

Per the H3 GM Service manual, you can remove the filter without removing a skid plate. There is supposed to be an oil deflector that deflects the oil from the filter into a pan.
Then again, I do not hold much credence with early production GM service manuals.

Thanks, I'll check that out.
