Has anyone installed the rear spoiler, and if so, does it keep the back window clean. My dealer has one for me, but I'm not sure on how it will work.

Thanks,

Bigt

Big T-

I've had mine for about a week. I live on a dirt road so dust is always an issue for me. I'm not sure that it has really helped any.
I just liked how it looks. How much is the dealer asking? Mine told me $1200?????
We bought ours from suvxccessory for $299- it was fairly easy to install.

Kim,

I like the looks too, and if helps keep the back a little clean, that would be good. The dealer wants around $400 installed, so its not that bad. How did yours attach? With screws?

I figured I would try the spoiler, a Yugo might be a bit excessive.

Anybody interested in that rear spoiler can get one for "WAY Less", see e-bay item 2401630534.
Starting bid for $ 175.-

BigT-

Ours attached with 4 screws (2 on each side of hatch) and 3M tape. It wasn't hard to install. Just took 2 of us about 15min. I was the holdee and my husb was the installer-

Years ago, my dad had an '87 Chevy wagon with a rear spoiler. No matter what the weather, that rear window was always pretty damn clean.

My Jeep on the other hand, doesn't have one and the rear window is ALWAYS filthy, be it road grit, dust, or salt spray.

I'd buy one for my Jeep, but I haven't found one yet that works with the opening rear glass of the '97 & 98's. They seem to only be available for the earlier models with the fixed glass.

Well I also have a 2001 Sequoia with the rear spoiler, and it works great. It just looks like the rear part of the roof rack might block some of the air movement from the spoiler.

I'm having the dealer put it on next week.

I had one put on 3 weeks ago. It doesn't do much for the cleanliness of the back window but it looks kind of cool-a little different. Mine was $375 installed at Cerritos Hummer. I don't have time to install it so they did it with the 1st oil change. They only used 2 bolts on mine and the stick tape. Problem is they used steel bolts. I plan to change them out to stainless and gooo them with a sealant to avoid rust when I get a second or two. They sit outside the rubber seal. I thought about white primer with a brush and still may go that way not sure. Spoiler looks good but I don't think it does much though. The ones on the trucks that stick up in the airflow and redirect some down over the window will create a "Breeze" to "help" keep the window cleaner, but I haven't seen one of those yet. With that big spare back there blocking the view, I never use the center mirror anyway, always the sides.
