I'm busy, but depending on the day I'm in. Never been to Texas canyon, in the H3 that is.

looks like the best day for me to make it is June 11th (sunday). I'll watch for what days are good for anyone else and decide whether it will work for me.

is anyone up for this Thurs or Friday am? My truck is too clean for me to stand (but sporting a fresh coat of wax begging for brushrake). It's embarassing driving a clean hummer -- looks like a mall queen.

Any trails out by you? My book doesn't show any but I've seen cool looking trails zig-zagging up the hills when going north on the 101 (back in the day when I took my truck to 1000 Oaks Hummer).

hey ron , we used to be able to go into hill canyon , it was nice hill climbs and stream crossings . Not anymore so much building goin on we have been forced to go to the OHV parks . cant even wheel up in the Sespe area up by Ojai . only runs we do local are valencia and goreman . we do love the weekends in pismo but too far for day runs . june 24th and 25th are the next dates for pismo . it will be a big turn out norcal hummer group and socal hummer group , along with a bunch of party crashers like me :D . you should try to make that one for sure

Re: SoCal check in

well, I guess it's rower, miller, and/or gorman. The initial climb on rower (from the bouquet resevoir side) is fun, but the rest is pretty tame. miller is easy, but fun (dusty with ALOT of tight switchbacks). We've all been to gorman...some fun climbs (including the one that took out my tie-rod, driveshaft, airshocks, and trailing arms on my H2 a few years back). I'm up for most anything. Just need to get out...sooner the better.

Ha Ha funny. During the week is tough for me unless it's last minute. I don't typically know my days schedule until the previous evening. Texas canyon is much closer though

I may have been through texas canyon and not known it -- is it the back way into rower from the 14 or a completely different trail? Is it more than a fire road?

hi ya Ron! :)

Guys, if Ron's gonna lead, let's do John Bull! He won't let you get in (too much) trouble! :D. LOTS of fun!

No climbs, no mud, no loose sand. Just rocks, more rocks, lots of rocks, and bragging rights ;)

Btw, H3ers, you MUST have uc protection to run this trail.

Re: SoCal check in

It's a little aways in Big Bear (unfortunately). But this is one of those trails you don't mind the 2.5 hours drive to, since it's fun the entire trail start to finish. After scenic Gold Mountain start, there isn't any other boring fire roads between fun obstacles. Also do-able in 3 to 4 hours (maybe 5), not 9 - 12 hours like Golden Spike. Baring any unforseen disasters (and if you don't mind a little dented muffler and underbody & rim scratches), I guarantee you'll have FUN!! :D :D

Ron????

Horace knows this trail as well or better than me. He actually met some jeepers there who were starting **** here on the forum and proved he could follow them everywhere they went. Sweet. A fun trail. there's one section that is tricky, alot of belly dragging.

here are some pictures from the last time I was there. A bit of brush-rake, a bit of belly-dragging, a ball-joint failure -- sweet! It is a trek there and back, but not too bad for a good trail and some pretty decent bragging rights. This is not a fire-road.
