Ipod, Onstar, and XM...
 

This for Frogger and others who seem to know what and where every wire and connection goes...and how they can be messed up.

I took delivery of a OR Grey H3 last week and went right to our local stereo install spot (Jo-Di's) had the Ipod adapter from Discount Car Stereo.com installed and it sounds great.

Very clean install, much like Frogger with the wire/connection coming from one of the accessory switches near lighter/AC outputs.

Here is the problem: They did cut the one wire from the XM unit where the data comes from. XM1 is the Ipod and XM2 is the XM signal. Again, it sounds awesome. The issues are that my ONSTAR id dead as a doornail and I'm not getting FM tuner info...but I am getting XM info.
Any thoughts or solutions?

I can't help...sorry. I pretty much know where the factory connections go, but when you add in an aftermarket device, I have to claim ignorance. Try Kodiaz (or some spelling like that...it's still early).

Not sure if this will help. The IPOD interface I used works in conjunction with an auxillary input device. By using this, the radio acts like it has an extra input within the XM mode. When sellecting IPOD, you push the seek function up 3 times and down 1, which selects the new input. When you want back to XM1, you go up 1 down 1 on the seek function. What it sounds like to me, and I may very well be wrong, is that they cut the wire in order to "jump" the ipod device into your XM1, effectively removing it. This, I think , would not affect xm2. Ask them if they used an aux input in conjuction with the IPOD interface. Hope this helps a little.
