hooking up sub amp

i just purchased one of the converters(plug and play) that goes in between the wire harness and the factory amp to allow me to rca cable to the amps input. can i access that wire harness just by removing the back panel of the center counsel or do i need to remove the whole center counsel? thanks in advance.
