Your Insurance limits?

I have 50k total liability 25/50/25
With they Hummer they sugested 50/100/50 becasue the Hummer can cause more damage in an accident. What do you all think and have given the recent wreck with one of our members?

If your assets are more than $50,000 I would up the insurance.

Re: Your Insurance limits?

i have 50/100/50 on my mexican policy. if you own your vehicle (no debt on it) or have > its value in other assets, it is prudent to have a substantial liability policy, so your personal assets will not be at risk. Combining the liability with your homeowners policy is a also a great strategy to insulate your family from risk. my insurance policy in mex is substantially cheaper than the typical us full coverage policies. as i remember, my anual premium last august was about $1,300.00, well worth the piece of mind!!! :)

p.s. it sure would be great to take out one of those mini coopers!!!
i need that sma brush gaurd first though!!!

I have 250k/500k/100k for about $525/yr on the H3, full coverage.

The cost for extended coverage is usually not that much more. For me it was less than $100/yr. difference and well worth the peace of mind. Of course this is all assuming a decent driving record and accident history....

A friend of mine called to get an umbrella policy to protect his assets and his agent said they don't write them for people with Hummers, he has an H2. When he asked why she said because people that get into accidents with Hummer generally don't fair well

Re: Your Insurance limits?

250,000/500,000 - Liability
100,000 - Property damage
150,000 - No fault med benefits
250,000/500,000 - Uninsured/Underinsured liability
1,000 - collision & comp deducts

On top of that we have a 2,000,000 liability umbrella policy.

*Looked up my H3 premium and it is $ 259.53 for a six month policy.

Not sure what I have but I have a two million dollar rider if someone tries to sue or something. It is crazy cheap extra insurance - like $15 - $20 more a month.

That's bullsh!t.....I have an umbrella policy, runs 115 a year I think. Might be time for your buddy to tell his agent hook me up or step off. Get some other quotes from other companys.
