driving lights question

has anybody install the piaa 510 in the stock daytime driving light location. or is there something else out there that will fit in this location? also has anyone install driving lights up on the square plastic pieces near the windshield on each side by the a-pillar? i was thinking about installing the piaa 580 in that location. thanks.

Any install pics? Did you leave them as DRL's or wire them up with a switch?

I don't have the install pics available. I did wire them up to a switch rather than using them as DRL's. Much better looking at dusk with those on and the parking lights on.:) I'll post some daytime pics of the location of the switch tomorrow.

here is the pic of the switch i put in for the PIAA's. The one on the left is the switch for the lights, and the one on the right turns on/off my monitor on my DVD head unit if my passenger wants to watch TV or a movie while I drive.

Did you have to do any thing special to mount the lights?

Re: driving lights question

drilled a little bit bigger hole through the back end of the plastic from the old DRL. Used a couple washers back there to prevent any vibrations. I believe I ended up using the original bracket from the old DRL's?? But, all in all.. VERY easy to do. :D
