Winch Question - What is your opinion...

In regards to a portable winch being mounted to a 2 inch. trailer hitch, if the hitch is rated around 5,000 - 6,0000 pounds and your winch is around 10,0000 pounds is this a dangerous scenario? :confused:

The truck would move, or rather be pulled toward the object you were winching, before it would break.

the trucks way 4700 - 5000 lbs depending on mods the extra power in the winch will be great just dont try to winch an H2 with it ;) then you would want a frame mount :D

The winch is only as strong as the weakest point. I would advise against using such a mount.

I'm not sure if you have ever seen a winch cable break, or a tow mount break, but it is not pretty. Is it really worth the risk?
