Best Size Tires to suit 22" Rockstar/Or Intimidator

Guys,

I'm looking to buy some 22" wheels to put on the SUT.

Assuming I get the Rockstar or Intimidator 22" wheels - what's the best size (and make) of tire to put on the vehicle to maintain as close as possible the original rolling radius of the original tire?

I don't mind going a little bigger (taller) and a lot wider - but I don't really want to have to buy a controller and recalibrate the speedo - so a max 5% difference is all I wanted.

The vehicle is used predominantly on the street with ocassional off road forrays.

Thanks

Im kinda in the same boat. I've been told two different things. The first option from what i understand is the closest to the original overall diameter. Pirelli Scorpion ATR 325-55-22 or the Nitto grapplers in a 325.55.22. I have also been told that a 325 50 22 would be best. Heck if i know but the link below is to a H2 with the nittos in a 325.55.22.

My concern is that i dont have any room to spare going into the garage. I cannot afford to change the overall height as i am only a few Red C*%T hairs away from hitting on stock height.

It's not mine but check this H2 out (props to Iceburg11) 22X10 KMC's with Nitto Grapplers 325.55.22. More pics are available in the thread listed above.

Yes exactly - conflicting advice!

Here are the specs for the 325/55/22 versus stock:

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
315/70-17 8.7in 17.2in 34.4in 108.0in 587 0.0%
325/55-22 7.0in 18.0in 36.1in 113.3in 559 5.0%

Here are the specs for the 325/50/22 versus stock:

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference315/70-17 8.7in 17.2in 34.4in 108.0in 587 0.0%325/50-22 6.4in 17.4in 34.8in 109.3in 580 1.3%

So the 325/50-22 is the closer size and will lift the truck by approx 1/4" and a 1.3% speedo error - whereas the 325/55-22 will lift the truck by 3/4" and give a 5% speedo error!

Between the Pirelli and the Nitto - which is the most "road biased" and which is the most "agressive" tread??

professorhp... I am in the same exact boat you are with garage clearance. Same tires and rims I want to get are the ones that Yellow H2 has.

I hear ya....i' ready to pull the trigger, but not at he cost of not getting in the garage. I suppose i could always lower it, but im not really trying to do that.

I dig those wheels on the yellow hummer, but i believe im going to get the black with the polished lip.

Thanks for the info.....Now i dont know what to do. I may have a 1/4" ti spare, but its gonna be close.
