Work in progress......

Re: Jack Mount
looks good, I would watch it with all the weight up there.
I have a Thule box, 2 5gal jerry cans, and the high lift up there. It scares me sometimes. I couldn't do the tire. g |
Re: Jack Mount
You should try to have as much weight in the back of your truck as you have up top.

Re: Jack Mount
Thought this would be a nice addition to the Hi-lift Jack...

Would that mark up the tires? Even with the rubber stuff, seems like it might scrape up some of the clearcoat. Of course, you could always then just paint it black:D :D :D |

I've got my tire, hi-lift, 2 jerry cans, shovel, axe, sea kayak and two rubbermaid bins full of heavy recovery equipment tied down to the rack. Had something similar on my Cherokee (much lighter vehicle) and never had any tipover issues. I wonder what 250# of crap on the roof of a 4,700# vehicle would do. You might lose some tipover angle, but I'm most concerned about getting rearended and spearing the car in front of me with a 60lb, 17' red thermoplastic dart:) . |
