I just did Royal Purple in the transmission, diff, transfer case and engine at 40k miles. I have noticed smoother shifting in the transmission.:D

Make sure you use a 75/90w synthetic gear oil in both diffs, especially in colder climates. I personally have had lots of positive feedback from customers using mobil one in trans and t-case, but have had no experience with royal purple. Only seen one customer use it as I don't believe it is readily available in Canada(he had it shipped from the US). Just another opinion.

Royal Purple's web site says it's available in 32 cities / 5 provinces in Canada.

I paid $7.50US a quart for gear oil and ATF, and $5.50 for motor oil at a local Mazda racing shop.

How many quarts of ATF, and how many of gear lube? I cant find it in the manual.

Re: 15k mile service

Front diff takes 2 liters rear diff takes just under 3 liters. T-case approx 2 liters and transmission if pan removed and filter changed will take from 4.5 liters to 6 liters, most times an even 5 liters does the job.

My local GMC dealer is telling me 16 quarts for the tranny. Is he off his rocker?

Re: 15k mile service

I used....

6 quarts of 5W30 motor oil

14 quarts of ATF (did a complete flush & pan drop)

6 quarts of 75W90 gear oil

I would suggest getting one extra of each for your off-road emergency kit!

He is correct, 12-16 quarts if doing A flush, 5 if you just drop the pan and change the filter
