Your Opinions Please
Hello folks....
I live in PRIME H2 territory, wiith lots of rock, dirt, mud and snow in the winter. I have heard from a few owners of the H2 prowess in this territory. After searching the web to learn more about the H2, I am ready to jump this week or next and pick up one for the summer. I have only had a chance to drive one briefly, as there is no dealer anywhere near me, and I loved it. I figure taking a decent used one out to the mountains for the summer should give me a sense of whether or not I should go with a new one in the fall.... HERE is one I am looking at on autotrader.com. On the surface of things it looks pretty decent. Regular service, all service records avail., clean carfax, new tires and front glass. I know there is not much to go on, but based on the ad, what are your opinions. As a COMPLETE H2 novice, but not a wheeling novice, is there anything else I need to know prior to making a final offer? Thanks in advance if you can share your opinion. Cheers eman |
Re: Your Opinions Please
I think it looks good eman.....
I would purchase it and take it on a tour of the northwest if I were you.... Which is what it looks like I am going to do. Sorry for responding to my own post.....just getting excited to pick it up |

Re: Your Opinions Please
decent price for the mileage... just a drop below typical Carmax.com prices for a similar 03 H2

Re: Your Opinions Please
IMO you should get something from a GM dealership. I got my 2004 used at a Chevy dealership. Since it was a GM dealer I was able to get the GMPP with it. I even get my oil changes for free! The warranty through GM will put your mind at ease. These are expensive rigs. Please consider.

Not true...if the truck is still under original GM warranty and it hasnt finished you can still get the GMPP from any GM/HUMMER dealer |
Re: Your Opinions Please
And, staying true to form, the voices in my head prevailed....I'm in.
I shall be wheeling north through Wyoming, Montana, and the mountains of Alberta next week. Hopefully camera in hand. And there are some great spots in nw Alberta here that I hope to share throughout the summer. My kids are totally jacked they are going to see some of the places I have told them about but have not gone since I sold my jeeps before they came along. Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the time y'all gave to reply. I looked extensively at 03's/'04's and 05's throughout the west. I spoke with several dealers and buying online I felt this was the cleanest and tightest unit that I found. I looked (virtually) at many. Some with less miles, different features, SUT's, etc. This one just spoke to me. I don't really worry about the voices, but they have been known to steer me wrong in the past. I'm sure that is not the case here though. :D Plus, talking with the sales person reminded me of dealing with someone from home, and there is something to be said for that! I'll let you know how the drive home goes when I get back! cheers eman |

This may be a moot point now but I should have elaborated. My 2004 had over 36K miles and was out of GM factory warranty when I bought it. However, since I bought it from a GM dealership I was able to get the authentic GMPP. |
