gear hunting
Has anyone experienced the gear hunting in the H2 between 4th and Overdrive. If you are light on the throttle and it goes to shift into OD it will hunt back and forth staying in either gear for 1/2 second or so.
To a passenger it sounds as though you are feathering the throttle slightly up and down about 200 or 300 RPM. But the shifts are so fast, the Tach really can't register the RPMs fast enough to see how much it's jumping. |
Re: gear hunting
Nope, just the normal TC unlock on headwind/hill. It's very decisive about it with no hunting regardless of how light or heavy I am on the throttle when it happens.

Re: gear hunting
It's been awhile (last year?) but I cannot agree more how much better my tranny shifted since I got it flushed and some software updates done to it.

Now thinking about the TC, I'm going to drive it and see if I can get it to do it at one of the other shift points and pay more attention to the lock up throughout. |
Re: gear hunting
hunting is a normal feature of the GM transmissions so i have found. I've had countless GM SUV's and trucks and they all tend to hunt a bit under certain conditions. None of mine were ever bad enough for me to do anything in re the situation.

Re: gear hunting
Can't we hook a switch up to the TC to lock it manually? Just curious because... Well, don't worry about. But I've done it on other GM vehicles, just never thought about it with the H2.
