"BOSTON -- A sport utility vehicle crashed off of a tractor-trailer that was transporting it in Kingston, Mass., when the roof of the SUV struck a bridge that was too low for the vehicle to clear.

The accident happened at about 11 a.m. on the northbound side of Route 3 near Exit 8. The tractor-trailer was carrying a Hummer when it crashed. When the SUV fell, it caused an accident involving four other vehicles.

Three people suffered minor injuries.

Northbound traffic was being diverted at Exit 6, and motorists were urged to seek an alternate route. A five-mile delay was reported."

By the look of the rims, I'm guessing H2

DDWH 12-09-2005 04:24 AM

It was an H2

Ouch, reminds me of what happened to a friend of mine.

He moved to Kentucky and was having his H2 shipped out to him. The driver of the car carrier fell asleep and flipped the truck. His H2 was on top and was totaled.

I thought truck drivers, even tow truck drivers, are supposed to do a "pre-trip" inspection which included how freakin' tall your cargo is?!? Sheesh, that drive won't be winning any safe drive awards anytime soon. What a shame and thankfully no one was seriously injured.

Look at the articulation from that front tire.

CUZICAN 12-09-2005 02:51 PM

When did they start selling an open top H2?

PARAGON 12-09-2005 02:55 PM

It might need an alignment after that.

Hummers are evil vehicles for evil people. That Hummer smashed into that bridge and then had the balls to leave trash laying all over the highway.

Nah it’ll be fine it doesn’t have a winch on it. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Wonder what the bridge looks like now?

ROX 12-10-2005 03:06 AM

I'm sure it's nothing a little bailing twine and JB Weld won't fix.
