Question re: seat memory setting in 2006 H2

I just purchased a 2006 H2. I've been trying to set the seat to user 1, and have an exit position for it also. The problem I am having is that when I put the key in the ignition, the seat doesnt move forward unless i press the seat one button on the door. It does however move to the exit position when I take the key out. The sales person said I must be setting it incorrecty. Is the seat supposed to move to the preset position when i put the key in the ignition (with using remote 1), or am I to push the button each time I enter the vehicle?

thanks for you help

Not sure how the remote works...

I push the button each time I get in.

Rob, you are a little late.

They don't do that anymore. You have to push the preset. Back on '03s and, I'm not sure about '04s, it does work and it also works off the key fob. You have fob 1 and fob 2 so it knows which preset to go to.

Rob,
I have an 04. When I unlock the car with the key fob it resets the seat to my preset. If I make any adjustments when driving and I dont set the button on the door it will go back again to my preset when I unlock again. Mine doesn't do anything when I put the key in the ignition. Hope that helps. Congrats on your new baby

In my 04 I have the option to turn that feature on and off for each user from the steering wheel controls.

X2

I have an '06 and you can activate the seat to adjust when you put your ignition key in. You have to use the steering wheel controls to scroll through the on-board computer settings & set it. Your computer will then recognize your key fob when you insert the key.

I know it's a last resort, but check out your owners manual;)

I did check the manual, I even called the dealer and asked them. They said it doesnt adjust back to the driver position after using the exit setting. crazy i know. I went thru all the items on the computer menu. ive settled down about it now but damn was i disappointed to find that my friends avalanche does it for both key fobs.

I also have an 06 and cannot get it to do this either.
Hmmm......

Update: I checked again and it will only allow the seat to move upon removing the key.
