So the 285 / 75 tires are 32.8 inches

and the 315 / 75 tires are 34.6

1.2 inches more section width also

Actually, it can vary by manufacturer.

Example: the Toyo MT 315's are 34.9.

And I think the BFG MT's are 34.8 or 34.9.

tire calculators are estimates. Bridgestone lists their 285 tire at exactly 33 inches. Best is to refer to the manufacturers websites for the tires.
