Try the OEM mudflaps, they seem to help some assuming that you are using the base/luxury 32" tires or the Adventure 33" tires.

i dont think you are on the same page, i think they mean magnetic things that cover the entire door area... and after wheelin last weekend im about ready to go to a sign shop and just buy some stuff and make my own

I believe the problem with these is that they do not stick to the fenders. At least that is what I recall reading somewhere.

3M makes a clear auto protector you can use for the fenders. Check with Timgco. I'm sure he knows about it.

Didn't fstop start to put the 3M protector on a while back and found it didn't match the fender?

KenP 12-20-2005 03:55 PM

Hall Hummer used a CLEAR 3M product on one of their trucks. It looked great. I can get more info if you'd like.

KenP 12-20-2005 03:56 PM

I should correct that, you could barely see it.

HummerNewbie 12-20-2005 04:06 PM

Looked into the 3M and another brand a while back and they look like the best option for the H3. Would be nice to have the magnetic shields for the rest of the side panels as well.

timgco 12-20-2005 04:58 PM

You can get that magnet skin from just about any sign shop or buy the H2 ones and modify. use painters tape like Ken said to hold them in place and use that tape also for your flares when you go on your week long off road trips. A couple of the H2 guys use this stuff and it works well. It just looks a little goofy!

3M clearbra is on Kira's truck. We didn't buy a kit. we had it done custom. We did the main impact areas on the fenders and rocker panel. It's doing it's job. There are a couple of marks in the rear fender flare onthe DRSD that did not reach the paint. WELL WORTH IT!

HummerNewbie 12-20-2005 05:08 PM

Did you have it custom done at a national chain shop or just someone local? I don't recall if it was the clearbra or the other brand I looked at but they did not have a dealer down here.

If you feel like a do-it-youself-er you could try THIS

i also have 3m...its on my hood, fenders, doors, and rear quarter.
i might add some more coverage to those areas which already have it.

HummerNewbie 12-20-2005 07:11 PM

Just called the Fast Signs that I do a fair amount of business with and they said $6 a square foot for the magnetic material. Based on previous dealings I think they would probably even come down some on that.
