Pioneer Z1 - Software Bug????
If the radio is set to an XM station, and I have a background screen showing versus the normal screen, and I turn off the vehicle, when the vehicle is restarted, the XM is set to station one, and there is no XM service; other than the XM commercial, you get before obtaining service.
If the radio is set to an XM station, and the display is showing the normal screen (preset buttons, XM display, etc.), when I turn the vehicle back On, it goes right to the station that was playing when the vehicle is turned Off. I duplicated this a half-dozen times at lunch. I have to think there is a bug in the NAV Do not feel it is a wiring issue, but a software bug in the NAV unit. Anyone else with the Z1 have this same problem? |

Mine seems to work fine. I turned the vehicle on, set XM to a station, tapped the Hide button to show the background image, turned the vehicle off (opened a door to completely shut down), then back on again. It came to the same screen with the same channel set. I am using a different XM module than you though. I am using the Nav Traffic one. |
Re: Pioneer Z1 - Software Bug????
Does this only happen with your custom screen?

So far, yes. I replace the custom screen with another one, reloaded it and it seems to be ok. (Maybe it didn't like my colors:D ) I guess my question would be what could a jpeg file do to cause this? The first time it happened yesterday, I had my cell phone out and ready to call XM, thinking they had turned off my electronic serial number for some reason. I'll keep playing with it today, when possible, to see if it repeats. On a side note, I am finding it impossible to find a noise reduction coil in this area. |
Re: Pioneer Z1 - Software Bug????
I have plenty of noise filters if you end up needing one.:D

Re: Pioneer Z1 - Software Bug????
I was able to get a coil that has power and ground to install between the B+ and the adapter and the grounds. I'm also going to run a very heavy wire (8-gauge) from the cross car beam ground point I use to the battery negative cable.
thanks for the offer.... |
