Re: H3 tie rods
Don't worry about the tierods, just take a front diff with you.
I haven't heard of anyone breaking one yet and lord knows we tried to last weekend at Tellico, but you can use HummerNewbie's philosophy and take one and then you'll never need it. :D |
Re: H3 tie rods
I think that's more of an H2 problem. Or it's drivers.:D

Re: H3 tie rods
I have only heard of two breaking but like Lotus said do what I did and by an extra so you never break one :p

Re: H3 tie rods
My 3 is a latter build, what should I watch for in the 3 on front diff?
In the H2 it seemed to be watch for wheel spin and don't over throttle. (I witnessed 2 explode) I may end up being the only 3 playing with 1's and some 2's. Hope the spotter doesn't put me in a bind. |
Re: H3 tie rods
Depends on how late it was built. Basically, an extreme restriction to the front wheels when in 4-wheel lock low, and a full throttle will guarantee it. :D

I bent one (tie rod) last week in back of the dealership on the test course. My extreme restriction was the H1 side of the wall, 4lo lock but never throttled over 1/4 throttle. I did make it over with out much problem though. I never could get over with the 3 in stock form though. The front spring perch on the rear springs hangs to low. I have also driven a stock H2 over the H1 wall. Yes we get bored at the dealership once-n-awhile. Chris |
