Air Cleaner?

Hey all,

I was trying to remove my air cleaner cover the other day, but couldn't seem to get it off. Is there a special trick to removing the cover.

Pull harder. Mine was "stuck" down the first time I removed it.

This trucks have air cleaners?

Where?

Thhe only one I know of is the inside air purification filter under the drsd dash. But that things electronic with the bipass tube that keeps all the crap outside the truck.

i tried to pull mine off today also, but could't unless i really twisted and yanked. Didn't feel like taking the bracket off that was above it and blocking it from coming off.

Two screws, one either side and it should just pull off. Also I unscrew the screws that are on the windshild water reservoir, it makes it a little easier to get the air cleaner lid off and out.

You may have to pry up a little on the lid to get it to come off.

I had trouble getting mine back on with a good seal until loosened that bracket above it. I think some assemblies must be wedged in tighter like mine, it was a bitc to get back on.

So, looks like I'll have to work getting it off and back on. Great...oh well.

I found that it also helps to remove the three screws that hold the entire assembly down. Then you can twist it out enough to lift the cover off more easily.
