Need Instructions - Remove/Install H2 Cross Rails

Can anyone provide instructions to remove and install the H2 roof cross rails? Could not locate the procedure using search. Thanks for your help!

From memory and not looking at the truck since it's so late, remove the screws from the rear plastic parts of the rails. Lift up and keep pulling from the rear straight up.

Be gentle so you don't break it, but expect to.

This will allow you to slide the entire crossmember off/on.

I may have made an error here, so look for early morning responses from folks that can check out their trucks.:o

Wrench Rating : 1 out of 5
Time: 10 mins

That's right! Those things were so tight I thought I was going to break them pulling them off.

Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it! :D Is it a given that the plastic tabs will break  ? If so, can this part be replaced and what is the part number (Or part name) that I can order from the stealership?

What I am attempting to do is to install an additional factory cross rail (luggage rack) on the front of the roof rails so that I have a total of 3 factory non lighted cross rails on the roof of my SUT. If I'm able to install this additional rail in the position I want it, I'll have one cross rail available for sale since I had to purchase two (a set). If I'm unable to make this work, I'll have a set (two) cross rails available for sale. I will post my results when finished!

A while back, I would have said it was to prevent theft of the roof rails.
Now, I think it is GM's attempt to get more money out of us owners when we go back to buy anothet key after we have lost the original.:jump:
