Great photo! Now can you take one while the H2 is moving, preferrably going uphill rather quickly? We could call it H2 Surfing...!

I'm using this photo as my desktop for now, Sandra. It is a great pic of us and that was a fun day. Still waiting for your ideas on trails.

I've seen a couple of those Gobi's around big D now and I am really starting to grow fond of them. Unfortunatly, there are zero parking garages downtown that it would be able to fit in!

John, if you followed the entire topic about the GOBI pictures you would know that the picture was intended for members that were comparing the GOBI Rack to the YAKIMA OR TULE. By the way the GOBI Rack is holsding approx. 600 lbs. not that this rack could not do the same.
I get the feeling that this is another H2 ver LR subject. I wish not to get started on another mine is better then yours. It really get's us no where.

Although I enjoyed your picture, I can't help but wonder-- isn't the max load for the roof based on the recommended roof load maximum from the factory- not on the rack? If you are aware of a roof rack system that increases the factory load recommendation I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks.

Straight from the GOBI techs. 1st, nothing is to be loaded directly onto the vehicle roof. 2nd refer to the Hummer H2 owners manual a load limit of 300lbs is recommended specifically for factory cross rails. Gobi does not use the factory cross rails for support. The Gobi Rack and its support brackets can handle more than the vehicle factory roof cross bars recommended weight limitations. However Gobi recomends a load limit of 300lbs dispersed evenly over the entire load bearing surface. We do not increase the weight limits of the factory roof cross bars we simply dispurse weight over a larger area on our rack. I hope this helps, I will see what more I can round up.
