H2 won't start. may have run out of gas. have gas now and battery but no start. what to do?
someone said solenoid flakey so try rapid key start. doesn't work. another said alarm is preventing it from starting. another said fuel pump is fried. is there anyth8ng to try b4 towing? |

tried unscrewing negative from batt, waitee a few minutes +put back. still no luck. could it be fuses?

fuses look fine. i don't hear the starter click. frustrating.

could be a clogged fuel filter.
If the gas got too low dirt/particals at the bottom of the tank could have been sucked up the line and blocked the fuel filter. |

I'm guessing it was the fuel pump too. I'll find out this week. It does not crank but everything else appears to be fine. As for the first grade writing... kenp... I lost power on the George Washington bridge and luckily coasted off an exit - in a straight line b/c the power steering turned off. I was typing on a tablet in the car while waiting for tow trucks from AAA. I just wanted to get out of there. I don't care what type of engine this is. If running out of gas isn't cured by adding more gas only, then the design is severely flawed. I knew about this before but the last gas station I passed was under construction. I didn't think I was totally out but maybe the fuel pump had been damaged prior to yesterday and finally gave out. If it is the pump, what am I looking at in terms of repair cost and time?

My Guess: Bad alternator and you ran off battery power until it then died. Now it won't start because you sucked all remaining life out of battery. You may need to charge or replace battery and R&R alternator.

Actually, since there isn't a crank, it might be a terrible coincidence between losing fuel and the ignition switch/fuse. If I recall correctly, the ign1 is a block, not a simple fuse. Is that the switch + fuse or just a fuse and the switch is elsewhere?

You sent it off w/o even charging up the battery or cleaning the battery terminals

No, I had the battery charged and everything seems to be powered (windows came on last I think). Still no crank. I'll find out today.

Probably the transmission interlock wiring at the shifter. When the wire breaks inside from flexing, the vehicle thinks it is in gear and will not start.

Turned out to be the PCMB fuse under the hood. Why it blew is anyone's guess. At least now I know where to check if it happens again.

The PCMB fuse is the power supply to your fuel pump relay-Chances are you overheated the fuel pump by trying to start it over and over w/ no fuel. You definately took some life off that pump.
