Customer Service Issue
What is the best method to use to go above my dealer's service department to get an issue resolved?
Thanks, Pete |
Re: Customer Service Issue
Go to your gun locker and holster up. Then, put on a your favorite USPS work shirt and go back to the dealer. Works for me.
But seriously.......you're screwed. Good H2 customer service is soooo 2003. |
Re: Customer Service Issue
Whats the issue?

Re: Customer Service Issue
Is it the same dealer you bought it from? Go back to your sales person or the sales manager. Tell them you will never buy anything else from then again, nor will any of your friends and family, or any of the thousands of members on the message board where you will post their name along with your service experience.

Re: Customer Service Issue
Pete,
Bring in your digital camera and snap some pictures of them. Post 'em here and we'll start photochopping them along with some dealership bashing threads. Then direct them to the link here. But first, you gotta tell us what happened so that we can confirmed you were actually wronged. |

Of any vehicle or warranted thing i have ever owned, i'd say that my H2 has the best service. |

I would have said that in 2003/2004. Now I'm treated like an ordinary turd. |
Re: Customer Service Issue
Thanks for the laughs, guys! :) I'm always "holstered up", so all I need now is the USPS shirt. LMAO!
The issue is the crappy leather. |

I see. They won't replace it? It is considered a wear item. But, maybe you have some bad material or stitched up bad? Any pics? WHeat or Ebony? What year? How many miles? Maybe your H2 bothers/ sisters can help. |

At 30k miles on my 2005 SUT, the wheat leather is cracked on both the DS and PS front seats; no pics. There are other threads here about the same issue, with some owners getting their seats recovered under warranty. My service guy thinks I'll get better results if I just start by going over his head from the get-go, so that's why I asked how do I go about that. It's not like he's being totally objectionable, so I'm not quite ready to start a campaign of fury. LOL Thanks! |
Re: Customer Service Issue
If the service writers manager can't or will not help go to the General Manager and if that doesn't work call corporate.
Like others have said the dealerships consider the leather a wearable issue so gather up some facts or similar situations resolved by others here and go in armed with as much info as possible. |
Re: Customer Service Issue
Yes, leather is considered a wearable item and usually not covered by warranty. But I have seen a couple of cases where the dealer stepped up and somehow had that one particular section replaced under warranty. Seat covers are the best at preventing this. My seat leather is still pretty much like new after 3 years.

Why not ask the service guy? He should be able to give you a few tips on who to talk to and what approach to take. Tread Lightly! |

Good question. The reason I asked here is because when I had my initial conversation with the service manager, I was rushing out of the dealership and didn't have time to go into the details. And now that I am away from the dealership at the moment, I'd rather have the input of the members here, who I trust much more than that guy. Thanks again to everyone for the advice. ![]() |
Re: Customer Service Issue
the leather on my truck will wear out on the outside(left) side of the drivers seat.
I'm a pretty big guy, but i still wind up sort of sliding over that part of the seat on my way in (i have no steps) and that bends it around and all. I dig that ebony leather, though. My truck smells, still, like a baseball glove. Even after spraying the inside with mud a handful of times when foolishly failing to roll up a window. Caddy Tehama leather > H2 leather. H2 leather > that in darn near anything else around its price. All about the smell. But the upscale leathers in the new Caddys make me weak in the knees. |
