Re: Key and Remote
I would check ebay for the fob and a blank key. The dealerships charge way too much....The fob is easy to program for the vehicle. Any locksmith should be able to cut the key...

Re: Key and Remote
I got a key cut by the dealership the other day. Total $13.00. As far as the remote I brought one with me and was programmed for free.

Re: Key and Remote
I had to get a new fob this summer at the dealer and it was $75. Programmed at no charge.

Re: Key and Remote
Quick search on ebay shows key and fob for for about $18 bucks plus shipping. Programming the FOB is a piece of cake, and getting it cut shouldn't be too much...

Re: Key and Remote
Yes it is really easy. If I work at Tustin Hummer I can even make a copy of your key while it is being serviced. Then come and steal your H2. Oh wait that already happened.:crying:

Re: Key and Remote
programmable" remote.
Important All transmitters which are to be recognized by the PDM must be programmed in a single programming sequence. When using this program method, all previously programmed transmitters will be erased upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. The order in which the transmitters are programmed will determine its numbering position within the PDM memory. The first transmitter programmed will be transmitter #1, and the second transmitter programmed will be transmitter #2. The number stamped on the transmitter case is for reference only; #2 can be programmed as #1, or vice versa. Additional unnumbered transmitters are also available. 1. Close all the vehicle doors. 2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder. 3. Press and hold the door unlock switch. 4. While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF. 5. Release the door unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode. 6. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of approximately 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter. 7. Repeat the previous step to program up to 4 transmitters. 8. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position in order to exit the keyless entry transmitter programming mode. 9. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation. __________________ |

Re: Key and Remote
As a locksmith, I am showing a key for the Hummer H2 as a ( ILCO /EZ P1113/B102 (P) A Substitute key would be P1106/B86
I would check with a locksmith shop in your area to get a Key Cut for the Hummer. It will be much cheaper then the Dealership. |
Re: Key and Remote
That sequence to program the remotes.....makes you wonder how many other "hidden" key sequences there are that do other stuff...

Re: Key and Remote
I looked on e-bay for the fob. A couple of questions.
1. The back of the fobs have "1" and "2" on them. Does it make any difference if I have two #2 fobs? 2. A lot of the FOBs look identical, such as 2005 H2 & Avalanche & Envoy. I'm guessing they are interchangable. Am I correct? Thanks, George SSSS |
Re: Key and Remote
More key fob info.
My key fob started gradually failing. I pulled it apart, took out the switching unit from the plastic case and pulled off the rubber facing. I took a close look at the two black rubber dots on the under side of the rubber facing that press down on the circuit board and noticed they had become very slightly grooved or stained (couldn't tell which, but I could see lines that corresponded to the surface of the circuit board). I took the end of a screwdriver and gently scraped the surface of both dots clean and cleaned the scraping dust out of the surrounding facing. Then I reassembled it. It took about 5 minutes (after 30 minutes of experimenting with other things) and its working fine. Hope this helps some of you save some bucks. Best regards, George SSSS |
