OEM Light Rail

I was wondering if anyone has added the the OEM light rail with the 55W lights. I want to get my hands on one. Is there any problem with wind noise like with the Marker lights in the past and how is it to install? Where is the cheapest place I can find it? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks..

Are you talking about the OEM roof-mounted offroad lights? There's a bunch of threads on here about them. Do a search.

I did the search, but really did not turn up a whole lot. I guess I have to dig deeper. Oh, and yes I am talking about the OEM roof-mounted offroad lights.

Re: OEM Light Rail

I let the dealer install mine on our old H3, never had any wind noise in the 11,000 miles we had that one.

Here is a link on the site about installation

The below link is listed in the thread above

Scroll down to the off road light bar - he gives a great description on how to do it.

Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate the link with the directions on the the light bar install...very detailed. I noticed that a person is selling a couple 2006 OEM Light bars on ebay. Will a 2006 fit on my 2007 as far as the wiring and everything else?

Thanks.

The light bar should fit the same and be compatible. As far as I know nothing was redesigned.

Mine was installed by the dealer when new and I have had no noise issues.

The only problem, which I have yet to remedy, is that the lights, when in use, glare downward across the windshield. If they were designed to sit back an inch or two on the roof line you wouldn't get the glare. I'm probably going to fashion some type of small glare shield or visor to fix the problem. An aftermarket sun visor might be cool, but I've yet to find one.
