Re: 100K Component Warranty on My '06 H3
I don't have a letter yet, but I will in a couple of days.
I'm sooo happy!:jump: I just called HUMMER and said I was concerned about wheeling with a truck that was almost out of warranty (38.6K). Until they had the "diff" issues resolved, I would be afraid of breaking down on the trail. I also said, "If I were breaking half shafts or tie rods, you would not be hearing from me, those can be repaired on the trail. Differentials can't. And if I were to break another one, I would not be able to afford the $1,000.00 + it would take to fix it." About a week later they called me back and were proud to offer me and extended warranty :jump: I love my HUMMER! |

Depends on your definition of easy?:fdance: You can do it, but you will sweat a bit, but is probably better than walking. Have to have the right tools too and a giant pry bar will help. An outer tie rod is a lot easier.....:dancingbanana: |

Not to digress from this excellent news that GM stands up to their warranty and products, but I wanted to add that my truck's tranny torque converter blew on my way from KC to Denver a few years ago! The tranny was rebuilt by Ford for $3300, and Ford would not budge on any assistance. The truck was at 44,000 miles. Bill |

Re: 100K Component Warranty on My '06 H3
MAJOR UPDATE!!!!
So, no letter.....no call.....then a message... "Mrs. Hummbebe, I need to update you on your component letter, please call me direct at XXX-XXX-XXXX" So I call. She tells me that it was totally her mistake, and she apologized profusely. However, it is GM's policy, that "Component letters cannot be offered to residents in the states of California, New Hampshie (and one other, can't remember). OK, so now what? She said she could offer me a Basic GMPP policy which would cover 60 months/75,000 miles. But it would include the engine this time. I was quiet for a moment, reflecting on Old Hiker's experiences as of late with GMPP. "I'm not sure that's going to work for me " I said. The I explained to her what happened to Pops, and said I was not at all interested in hanging out at a dealership for 48 hours, away from home, waiting for some jackass adjustors approval. She said, "Well you don't have to accept it if you don't want it". ( little snot) I replied, "oh I'll take it, but I will not be happy about it." So I simply stated, "you offered me a 100K component letter, why can't I have a 100K GMPP?"(I really wanted to call her an indian giver, but that may not have been to my advantage.:twak:) So she said, can you hold for a couple of minutes? Of course. She came back with an offer of a 60month/100K GMPP Basic. Fine. So the entire driveline will be covered. I just better not get any crap from some jackass adjustor, who has no idea what he's doing. Oh yeah, no cost to me and no deductables. |

I called 1-866-HUMMER6, and told them my story, the breakges etc. I said, until they correct the issues, I would not feel safe wheeling my H3. Nor would I be happy. She made a few calls and then offered me the component letter. Which of course went bye bye, but the GMPP was offered in it's place. |
Re: 100K Component Warranty on My '06 H3
I called this morning to pick their brains a bit.
Apparantly the 4yr/50K mile Warranty is the same for 2007 as is for 2006. The only thing that was added is an extra 1yr/50K mile warranty for the drivetrain only. As far as Bumper to Bumper goes, it's still 4yr/50k. |
