4x4Builder H3 Build

Has anyone read the 4x4Builder article regarding the diesel swap (Bullydog)with complete new rear end and SAS for front end. Also installed entire new drivetrain with atlas transfer cases. I read part three which was towards the end. Next month is the last in series. Looked way cool, the author seemed to run into the same thing alot of us do and that is not a whole lot of companies offering serious aftermarket parts for the H3.

No link, hard copy of mag and their website doesn't seem to work. They installed a Teraflex CRD60R, full floater 35 spline Warn axles, ARB Airlocker, and a custom suspension with quick disconnect sway bar. Up front they removed the IFS and installed another CRD60R with coil over shocks. Mount Logan Off-Road did all the axle and suspension work. They build custom rock crawlers as their main business. Bullydog, who is known for some awesome diesel mods, did the engine swap for a Duramax deisel. Advanced Adapters provided an Atlas transfer case for the project. From the pic in the article this is one trick H3. A company called Tough Country Outfitters provide front bumper and rear bumper, some serious meat at both ends. I've checked their website to see if they are available but no info yet. Sent email to their sales department.

Hopefully we will see some of these products hit the market for those that really want to trick out their H3s.

Sounds great, but those mods probably cost more than the platform vehicle in the first place! Love the idea of a diesel in that pup, though. H3 alpha!

I agree with you on the $$$, but at least the research is starting to be done, and who knows in ten year when the old 2006 H3 is ready for a major overhaul..... :jump:
