06 mirrors for astralian converted H2

Greetings to all from Australia.
I am the proud owner of a 2005 H2 lux that i imported and converted to RHD, it has taken 12 long months to convert including dealing with the Govt red tape to get it registered. Now i am looking to get some 06 mirrors to update the look. Can anyone help me out here or give me some leads. I have a friend in New York that could post them to me here in Australia if that is easier.
Cheers from down under
Brenton

P.S. it would also help if i could spell the country i am from!

What will be heally hard to get used to is the turn signals are on the wrong side. I drove RHD vehciles when I was in Japan and the turn signals are on the door side of the stering wheel. I looks to me like his are still on the left side. Good luck with that!

I think everyone here gets them from the dealer. Maybe a GM parts place over there can get some from here. Cool truck. Now lets get some pics of it off road down there!

Thanks for the kind words guys, the E brake pedal sits up high when driving so no chance of accidentally stepping on it. the indicators (turn signals) are still on left (we have many european cars here so i often turn windscreen wipers on when cornering).

Back to my original request i am chasing any leads on 2006 mirrors, i realise that new would be expensive (especially with the exchange rate) but at least that would be a starting point for me if any one could gve me prices. i recently missed a pair on ebay that went for $400 US that i would have gladly paid for had i seen the auction in time.

btw this is the first car i have ever owned where i was driving down the street and a mum and daughter flashed their boobs at me, kind of concerning (i am not a good looking man either)...also parking is proving harder in our smaller spaces.

Brenton,

Nice work there!

Did you do it yourself or is there an outfit in Oz who do it?

I once owned a fantastic Right hand Drive H1 that was converted by the Hummer place that used to be out in Perth - are they still in existence?...and can you still buy any of their converted H1's in the old dealership network they set up in Oz?

I recall that for a while GM Australia were avertising right-hand-drive H2's - did they ever actually make any?

I'm just wodering about all of this because theere's clearly a market for RHD H2's (There was a place her in the UK - in Liverpool - offering what looked to be a VERY nice conversion - but they seem to have dropped off the the map?)

It's good to see someone with so much passion for a product that theyve gone through what you went through (I can empathise - everyone thought i was completely mad when I brought the first H1 into the UK in 1996!)

Thanks for the kind words Darren,
i did everything myself, it took me nine months, alot or doing and redoing, i am a bit of a perfectionist. The hardest part was the govt approval with some rediculous requirements i had to meet. there are some converters here in australia but i wanted to do it myself and i really wasnt happy with their workmanship.

That company in perth is not operating anymore ( i bought some left over parts off them for a H1 i helped with some of the conversion for a guy who bought one out of zimbabwe (or however you spell it). a

As for that company in the UK is the guys name Richard? (not sure where he was from, i lived in Droitwich near Birmingham for a year in 2002) because i got a phone call from a converter in the UK, he called me asking about how to convert the heater box (they are difficult to get the air flow right with the dual zone).

LASTLY STILL LOOKING FOR SOME 06 MIRRORS IF ANY ONE CAN HELP PROCURE SOME THAT WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Looks cool! Great job!

I suppose you could contact Dave at Bluehummer.com or PARAGON might be able to assist you with parts. Partsguy might also be able to get them to you for a reasonable price.

Brenton, all joking aside, get a factory Hummer double tier brush guard. From the driver seat you can easily judge where the corners of the hood/bumpers are making parking a breeze.

I actually like the look of a naked H2 but that double tier brush guard sure makes things easier.
