The Time Has Finally Come!!!

well, well where do I begin. :excited:

I suppose to be studing for my test tomorrow but I am so excited! Anyway, my dad finally got me my H3. Its a 2007 Black Adventure with Chrome appearence package. I parked it right outside my apartment, but my dad got me paranoid about some jealouse kids keying my new ride. I dont think i have any enemies, but now I cant stop looking out my window!:(
I love driving my hummer, i feel like i own the road, I tend to go 25-30mph in a 35, or 35mph in a 40-45:dancingbanana: .

Moonroof is awesome!, and I dont think the gas mileage is bad at all, my '02 eclipse seems to burn more gas!( PREMIUM GAS).
I love Betsy, when we drive by, i just notice all heads turning, all i can do is smile, sit back and say "thats right baby".
Err the pedals are really close though, that is one of my 2 compaints, my dad drove it and complained too, he also says it feels like a truck, and I told him "thanks"! He likes trucks tho. (sometimes i take off my right shoe to drive)

Onstar is the coolest thing in the world, i cant wait to make a phone call, my dad put his credit card on it, so i can order alot of minutes!

Backing up is a bitch already. Now i always try to back into a space, becuae backing out it basically saying " i hope no one is behind me, i dont wanna kill somebody" :OWNED:
The first time i backed up I swear, i looked both ways and behind me, and out came swurving a small bmw coup thingy. I can bearly see it infront of me much less behind. My mom says I should get that camera thing so i can see behind me. My dad says I should use my mirrors to see behind me, but they dont help to see what is directly behind. How do you guys do it????? any tips is appreciated!

It has great pickup if it wants to, but I dont use betsy to race, i just cruise with her.

Im waiting for the day that I park next to another H3!, its going to be a glorious day!
I'll post pictures Soon! Im just so stoked right now!:perfect10s:

Oh yes I almost forgot. once i left the dealership a "low tire" light came on, so i went back and gave it to them. It keeps coming back on every now and then? They said they put air in it...He also claims that there is hyrdrogen in the tire. it that true? so many questions, so much time!

CONGRADS !!!

Depending on who is paying for the gas, SOMEONE will save a lot of money by keeping it under 60 on the highway

Matt,

Congrats, thanks to your generous father. I'm using a Hitchcam that the dealer installed to see behind the H3, so far no mishaps.

re: behind you...

If DAD is paying buy the HitchCam!

If you have to pay buy the 2 little convex mirrors and the fresnal lens for the rear door window, maybe $30 total (do a search, lots of previous posts about that)

Re: The Time Has Finally Come!!!

my dad paid for mine:D , so i got a $3000 nav(including all extras) which happened to have a back up camera. hehe:dancingbanana:

also you will get used to the blind spots and using the mirrors very effectively as time passes. It took me couple of weeks. Just be careful in the begining and then it'll be like second nature.

Pulling up next to another hummer is kinda cool, and the drivers are cool people, love to chat. I especially like hummer convoys on the highway. Once in a while when drivin down i line up with some more random hummers and people think its a fu**ing invasion or sumethin. hehe.

i was kinda paranoid about where i park it, but around here it seems that many more people love it than hate it. Ive only gotten a couple of weird looks and tons of nice looks. You need to get yourself a girl (if you dont already have one) that makes the ladies stare even more when you stop at a light or something like that, than they would if your alone.

Are you gona off road it? How old are you?

Congrats and enjoy the truck!

I use the, if someone is in my way, they'll move method when backing out. Occasionally, I also use the listen technique which is basically... if you hear any crunching or screaming you know to slow it down a bit. Visibility is over-rated, and those frensel lenses that RYD keeps trying to push will make you look like an old fart driving a school bus! :giggling:

NITROGEN is used to inflate tires. If yours are filled with hydrogen, it's probably a good thing to keep your speed low and your tires cool. And check your tire pressure often. Do you smoke? :giggling:

Re: The Time Has Finally Come!!!

Nitrogen? So does that mean that you can only inflate your tires at the dealer? I use regular compressed air. You can't always have a Nitrogen air source when you're on the road.

BTW Matt, congrats on the new truck. I hope you like it as much as I do. Be careful driving it, but it sounds like you are already.

Re: The Time Has Finally Come!!!

Welcome and congrats on the Truck Matt!
My milage is great. I keep it at most, 5-10 mph over the speed limit. Lots of discussion last year about the tire pressure issue. I have started to see mine come on every morning (it's in the 30s now). But after a couple miles of warming upm, it goes off. I chalk it up to the sensitivity of the system. If it stays on for a while, then I'll check the pressure.
