Need torque specs.
I need to get under the truck and check it out. I was wondering if anyone had quick access to the specs for the frequently checked bolts.
Thanks. |
Re: Need torque specs.
bump. I'd like to know too.
Right now I'm wondering what do people torque their side steps to when they re-install them? |
Re: Need torque specs.
Engine shield and trans skid plate are 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
As for other under carriage bolts? Not sure which ones would be "normally" checked. If they are correctly tightened, and the use of a threadlocker (IF REQUIRED FOR THAT BOLT/NUT) is correctly applied, they should not be losening up. However, here is a list that might be helpful for some.... http://home.comcast.net/~f5fstop/H3_...GE_TORQUES.htm |

Re: Need torque specs.
I purchased my side steps from the dealer after the sale. Instruction sheet says to torque all bolts to 30 ft. lbs. However, be very very careful with the U-bolts that hold the step to the bracket. Make sure you draw it down evenly if you have loosened it. If you just took the brackets off at the frame, I wouldn't touch them. (This applies to H3 anyway)
