Offset Range

I am looking to purchase a new set of rims. During my research I came across that the offset range of an 05 H2 is -24 to 20. Is this accurate? The lower the offset number the deeper the dish sits (larger lip) right? What offset is recommended in your opnion.

Any ideas on the backspacing for an H3 if I wanted a 9" rim?
