Running boards extension?

I know I asked this question last September 05' when I bought my H3, but maybe someone has found them by now. Does anyone know of someone that makes extension bracketes for the running boards? They are to close to the frame and I want to extend them out about 1-2 inches.

How close to the frame are they?

They are the normal install. I want to extend them out about 1-1.5 inches. I don't have big feet just feels weird getting out and passengers tend to just slide out rather then step out because the damn things are so close to the frame.

I have a friend who is short and she slides her ass out of my Hummer seat all the time and basically slide to the ground not using the running boards. I am sure sooner or later she will catch on one of the seams or something and tear it or just wear it out. She just smile her pretty smile and keeps doing it thinking I am being stupid. Not sure I am ready to extend the boards, would rather just take them off, she does not use them, and fit the removable steps that fit over the UCP

You must have the chrome or black tubes. The FLAT BLACK RAILS work great as steps in or out, plus they are flat for stepping over their entire length, not just a narrow 18" section.

Take a look at them at your dealer.

Funny thing about the Army, I outrank 7/8 of the military, lead soldiers into combat twice but I can not even get anyone at home to even take the garbage out....

Re: Running boards extension?

I really like those running boards, and with some custom made mud flaps for the front, I would bet the front of the rear fender flare would get NO buildup of road debris, salt, mud, stone chips...etc.
If I get another Hummer, I'll have to try a set.:jump:

Re: Running boards extension?

So, you are saying you also have to purchase the OEM rock rails? For the price they want, it should include the rock rails. Maybe I'll have to talk to the local metal shop.:clapping:

The H2 rails are $1,800.00. :p

You should already HAVE the OEM rails....:D

Re: Running boards extension?

just go to your local metal/welding shop and have them make some ext. blocks, shouldnt cost more than $50. this would be a much better alt. to buying another set. good luck, fraz
