what debate, that's pretty dumb. Both idioms are used all the time. You give a brief idea about something and then say you will "flesh it out" later to give it more substance and work out the details.

On the other hand, you are working on a project and have all sorts of questions and ideas that are unclear and you state you'll "flush it out" and report back what you figured out.

Flesh out - expand upon; work out the details; build up.

Flush out - clear out; so as to locate something; eliminate or remove the noise.

Well have to let the language correctness console argue about it though. I've got to remove my center council to do some more wiring projects. ;)
