Crappy weather warning
Here in western PA it is supposed to be 62 degrees at 0800, by 1000 it is supposed to be 22 degrees, and by noon winds up to 50 MPH, and tomorrow night...... snow. By the end of the week end they say it might total up to a foot of snow. I wish the 60 degrees would not leave but if it does, at least give us a crap load of snow so Satan will not be at work. I know all the H3ers across the US seems pretty excited by this but I have not seen may pics of the snow yet

Re: Crappy weather warning
I think it (snow) is going to go NW of us ScoutsOut. I was planning on a trip to Altoona tomorrow for Christmas shopping so I have been eyeballing it closely. The back side of the storm might swing south and then northeast to hit us, but I am having my doubts. We will, however, be getting some seriously nasty rain and wind. So watch the puddles and the areas prone to high vehicle profile roll over zones during high wind (like Altoona - i.e. Cresson Mountain). I get freaked out due to black ice (Satan?). These types of conditions are condusive to it *argghhhhh*
We'll have something to play in - I am just not sure what... |
Re: Crappy weather warning
Clarification>>> Satan= my boss, the male hating, military hating, lying, young hating... evil lady. She chased away her Ameri-corp worker by constantly having to touch her and running her hands thru her hair but the worker was young and afraid to say anything.
Tuesday she claimed she was missing a report I had turned into her so I told her I had placed it in her box and I had my secretary witness it. I walked down stairs and she followed me down and as I watch she took the report "which she did not have" but was in her hand and pretend to find it on the counter. It is to the point anymore she does not even attempt to hide her lies... Some how the director still likes her but I am pretty sure she is one sexual advance away from a law suit and the way she has to touch all the young ladies here, it may not be long |

Re: Crappy weather warning
you better do a search of the forum for the pic i posted earlier of her earlier, i would not subject even those I hate to any sexually explict, or even non sexually explicit photos, of her.

I was in Altoona once and all I remember is that coming down the mountain was crazy as hell... It was staight down. And there was a small bowling alley and Pub.. God those were the days...:D |
Re: Crappy weather warning
I bet Altoona has changed much since then. It is a moderate sized metro-area now with a lot of big city offerings and problems alike. But I like trekking down there - the food and shopping are excellent for the area!

Re: Crappy weather warning
SOme of the most challenging roads are the two "pikes" that lead into and out of Johnstown. A few years ago we had a military formal there. It ended at 2300 (1100 pm) and it was 43 degrees. We goofed off with the waitress for a little and when we left at 2330 it was snowing. With in the 20 minutes it took us to get to the pike (route 56 I beleive) it was closed with over a foot of snow. We sat at the bottom of the hill for about an hour before a local cop came back to all the guys with 4x4s and said we could try to make it up but if we got stuck there might not be a rescue until morning. I had a Jeep Comache then and I made it up but it was pretty exciting, stopped and pulled my friends blazer out more than once.

Re: Crappy weather warning
Yep - Route 56 is is what I use for the commute both ways. It can be a real nail biter. Cresson Mt. isn't something you turn you back on either and Pleasantville Mt., headed to Bedford on Route 56 East is just insane during fog or winter snows.
Tis one reason I wanted the H3 - if it doesn't make, I truly believe nothing will short of a tracked vehicle. :giggling: PS Skip the photos of Satan - but do send those cute Americorp Workers :clapping: |

Re: Crappy weather warning
We got some drizzle here, but most of this storm completely missed us! A few branches/trees have come down so far. I guess the wind isn't quite here yet. But not quite the doomsday scenario the EBS led me to believe when it woke me up at 5:30.
