The "towing package" as you call it only consist's of a hitch and wiring. No tranny cooler. There isn't even a plug under the dash for trailer brakes. The wires are there but no plug.

There is no tow/haul mode, and I don't recall reading anything about there being an auxillary cooler like on the H2. I suppose you don't really need a brake controller because the braking system is already built into the hitch wiring, and you won't be towing some monster-sized trailer. But if you want to know if it has an auxillary cooler, just look in front of the radiator.

No they won't work without a controller. There 4 wires bundled together under the dash by the tranny hump next to the light. Wire your brake controller to those and you will have trailer brakes. One of the tech's at my dealer got me the color codes.
