Tie rod perhaps? VW bug / Hugo that was in a pothole? Was it drivable? And we can't say this enough - we need pictures to evaluate / make fun - sorry its what we want and do.... 12" huh? I saw this movie when I was in Thailand....

Dude you might want to check your front lift blocks to see if one came out. You know, between the 10 bolt front axle and the front leaf springs. Just put a little bailing wire on there to hold it togehter.
