Magnaflow muffler

I had my Magnaflow muffler cut out of my H2 because it was a little to loud inside the truck for me. I'm assuming the muffler is expensive on its own (haven't checked) but I have one if interested. 1 Year old.

Did it drone inside? I'm looking for exhaust..did you go back to stock or another type of aftermarket muffler? Just wondering.

Ya, it resonated pretty bad inside the truck on the highway. It damn near rattled my teeth. I went and put in a Flowpro and it is just as bad so I'm seeing what my options are.

Re: Magnaflow muffler

try the flowmaster 70 series. that is what i used (weld in muffler only)-no resonance.

So, I looked up flowmaster and the review said it was way loud in interior so I'm going to do a little more checking.

Re: Magnaflow muffler

Talked to flowmaster and they said 70 series is going to have too much backflow due to you can only get it in 2 1/4" inlet. Of course we have 3". So I asked about the 50 series and they said it would work but I should get a resinator with it and put on drivers side pipe, but they wouldn't guarantee to take out the noise in the cab. He then told me the 6.0 liter engines are a nitemare to get quiet inside with an after market muffler and the only way to solve the problem is go back to stock. So thats where I'm at. Love the noise outside on Magnaflow but WOW it's loud inside on the open road. My problem is I've blown over $300 bucks already swapping mufflers and I'm back where I started. So I'm not going to bother with the 70 or 50 series flowmasters if even they say it probably wont work.

Re: Magnaflow muffler

on the 70 series muffler, my muffler shop was able to open the inlet to 2.5" and outlet to 3". they do it to all 6.0 liters truck, suv and h2 like that because the 50 series gives too much noise in the cabin. the 70 is quiet on normal cruising with very little drone and throaty when on the gas.
