Check out the info onstar has...

Got my monthly diagnostic report and got to a page where the onstar history is shown. the two things it has is oil life history and average daily driving, might have more but couldnt look around. Im liking this onstar thing, its evolving, hopefully soon it will have many more usefull features. This is pretty cool!!! Heres a couple of screenshot:

I gotta start changing the oil less frequently.

Another good thing to track would be fuel economy, but it doesnt.

Pretty cool.....I hope they never track speed and then you start auto receiving speeding tickets in the mail!

That is great info. I noticed in the owners manual that the %oil life remaining is there.
Does anyone know how to access it? I pushed my trip meter button, but I cannot get to anything.

Cool page, thanks for the tip!

How'd you post the page? I copied and pasted mine, and the code shows up, not the graphics.

I took a screenshot. If your using windows all you gota do is press the (prt scrn/sys rq), its to the right of the f12 key on most keyboards. This takes the entire image on the monitor and copies it to you clipboard. Then go into paint or other program like that, and paste it by by either clicking edit menu and paste or right click mouse and paste.

just remember that your entire monitor image is captured, so if theres something you dont want people to see, edit it out in paint or whatever program you are using.

then just save the image and you can post it or whatever you want to do.

donno how to do it in mac.

hope this helps.:)

Xotic H3, the vehicle tracks the oil life and will alert you when its time to change it, but it will not display the life remaining on the DIC, the only way to see it is through onstar or a tech2. I thought at first that it could show it and then someone told me that it doesnt work like that. Thats how the 06s are, think the 07 would be the same.

Good info. Based on what F5 explained about the oil monitoring system we can expect long intervals based on the way most people use their rigs.

If you use Alt+Print Screen it will only copy the active window instead of the entire screen.

How many are going to 12,000 miles on the oil change:eek:
I cant let myself go past 6,000 using Moble 1 synthetic.
Im planning on getting a lot of miles(200,000 +)out of the 3 :D

I still use the monitor I just dont reset it at 2nd oil change.
I got my under 10% warning a couple weeks ago.
Changed the oil this weekend and reset.

I've gone 8000 miles plus+ on oil changes w/H3, and not worried about it at all.

The oil monitor system on the GMs is pretty accurate and has been backed up by oil testing with CONVENTIONAL oils. I use Royal Purple and change it when the monitor tells me to. It's been going 10-12k. Changing it any sooner is a waste of oil.
